Schools of Choice

The Collaborative Schools of Choice Program is a plan that offers parents and students a choice to attend other public schools in the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District outside their district of residence.  

School of Choice information for the 2019-2020 school year:

 

Students Living in Muskegon County (MAISD Collaborative Schools of Choice Program)

  • Parents may fill out a Schools of Choice request for each student who will be applying at http://bit.ly/socapp2019-20.  This link will be active April 8, 2019 - May 24, 2019.
  • If a parent is unable to fill out the application online, they should contact Stacey Brown at 231-893-1515 or browns@mapsk12.org to have an application mailed to them.  The completed application must be returned to the Central Office no later than Friday, May 24, 2019.

‚ÄčStudents Living Outside of Muskegon County (Schools of Choice 105c)

  • Parents may fill out a Schools of Choice request for each student who will be applying at http://bit.ly/socapp2019-20.  This link will be active April 8, 2019 - May 24, 2019.

For the 19-20 school year, MAPS has unlimited openings in all grade levels.

Transportation is not provided for students residing outside of the Montague Area Public School District.  Parents are expected to transport students to and from school on-time.  If you would like to inquire about the Montague Area Public School District bus stop closest to your house, contact the bus garage at 231-893-1535.

Note that a previous suspension or expulsion may result in your application being denied.

If your child has been accepted through the Schools of Choice process in a previous year and has remained enrolled at MAPS, you do not need to fill out the application again.
