Notice of Board Vacancy

The Montague Area Public School District is seeking applicants for a current vacant position on the Board of Education. Interested individuals must submit a letter expressing interest in the Board position to the district office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4.  Following a review of the submitted applicants, the Board will appoint a new member at the Board of Ed Meeting on Monday, February 9, 2026.  This individual will be appointed to fill this vacant position through Dec. 31, 2028, and will be replaced by the individual elected to the position (based upon the Nov. 7, 2028 election results) on Jan. 1, 2029.  If you have any questions concerning the role of the Board of Education and the responsibilities of a Board member, please contact Jeffrey W.
