Schools of Choice
The Collaborative Schools of Choice Program is a plan that offers parents and students a choice to attend other public schools in the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District outside their district of residence.
School of Choice information for the 2017-2018 school year:
Students Living in Muskegon County (MAISD Collaborative Schools of Choice Program)
- Parents may fill out a Schools of Choice request for each student who will be applying: bit.ly/maisdsoc2017 no later than May 26, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.
- If a parent is unable to fill out the online application, they should contact Stacey Brown at 231-893-1515 to have an application mailed to them. The completed application must be returned to Central Office no later than 4:00 p.m on Friday, May 26, 2017.
Students Living Outside of Muskegon County (Schools of Choice 105c)
- Students living outside of Muskegon County have until Friday, September 8, 2017 to complete the online application: bit.ly/maisdsoc2017
If a parent is unable to fill out the online application, they should contact Stacey Brown at 231-893-1515 to have an application mailed to them. The completed application must be returned to Central Office no later than 4:00 p.m on Friday, September 8, 2017.
For the 2017-2018 school year, there are unlimited openings for Schools of Choice students in grades K-12.
Transportation is not provided for students residing outside of the Montague Area Public School District. Parents are expected to transport students to and from school on-time. If you would like to inquire about the Montague Area Public School District bus stop closest to your house, contact the bus garage at 231-893-1535.
Parents will be notified of acceptance by July 1, 2017. Note that a previous suspension or expulsion may result in your application being denied.
